Karyn joined the Site Safe Board as a General Director in 2024.

A seasoned professional with over two decades of experience in health, safety, quality and environmental (HSEQ) management in New Zealand, her career is marked by a steadfast commitment to fostering safe and sustainable work environments across diverse industries, including manufacturing, construction, and infrastructure sectors.

Karyn’s expertise lies in developing and implementing comprehensive HSE strategies that not only comply with regulatory standards but also drive cultural change within organisations.

Karyn holds a Bachelor of Management and a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, equipping her with a robust foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of HSE. Her proactive approach has led to a significant reduction in risk and environmental impacts at various companies. She is known for her ability to engage and educate at all levels, ensuring that safety and environmental governance become part of doing business.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Karyn is an active member of several HSE professional bodies, where she contributes to the development of industry best practices. Her dedication to continuous improvement and her ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes make her a respected leader in the HSE community. Karyn is the current CEO of the New Zealand Safety Council.
