Business Development Lead

We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Lead to work with our Business Development Manager, Regional Managers and other key roles across the business to grow our reach and engagement with our members, customers and industry.

Site Safe is a successful not-for-profit organisation that promotes and supports health and safety in the New Zealand construction industry. We work with industry to provide leadership and advocacy across safety issues. We educate, train and develop future health & safety leaders; provide advice and assurance services to businesses; and conduct research on behalf of industry on the stuff that matters.

The initial focus for this role will be on promoting our Assurance programme, which includes our auditing services. This programme has recently been upgraded and relaunched, and this role will drive the uptake of this, engaging with customers, understanding needs, and ensuring value. This will also provide opportunities to promote the full range of our products and services and broaden our reach into other industries.

Alongside this, the Business Development Lead will help to build business development capability across the business through tools and guidance, and by supporting the use of the customer database (CRM) to enable quality customer engagement, sales and growth.

So, as Business Development Lead, you’ll be building and maintaining relationships, internally and externally, with a collaborative and flexible approach. You will have a drive for success for both our business and our customers’ businesses, with the ability to ‘seal the deal’. To enable this, you’ll have proven experience identifying customer and business needs, targeting relationships and using sales experience to deliver on our business strategy.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven Business Development / Sales experience
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • An understanding of business and product lifecycles
  • Ability to travel as needed

Knowledge of the construction, or similar industries, would be an advantage.

This role will be predominantly be based from home, with the ability to work out of the Auckland office from time to time. So, a suitable home office set up will be required.
