A 5-step checklist to choosing a H&S consultant

When you’re looking for a health and safety consultant, it’s important to hire a qualified expert who can provide you with the right kind of support. As a not-for-profit organisation, Site Safe has always been focused on making sure good health and safety advice is easily accessible to everyone in the industry, from large companies to small businesses.

To help businesses get the right kind of support, the Health and Safety Association of New Zealand (HASANZ), the national umbrella organisation representing all workplace health and safety professions, has developed a simple five question checklist.

Site Safe is a corporate member of the New Zealand Institute of Safety Management (NZISM), a member of Standards NZ and is registered as a Category 1 Private Training Establishment with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety and Injury Prevention (Level 4, Theory)
NZ Certificate in Environmental Management

National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (UK-based) Diplomas and Certificates
NZQA National Certificate in Suspended Scaffolding
NZQA National Certificate in Advanced Scaffolding
Teachers Diploma
New Zealand Registered Electrician Trade Certificate
National Certificate in Training, Assessment and Education
National Certificate in Adult Education (Level 4)

Since it was formed in 1999, Site Safe has been influential in creating a positive change in the health and safety culture of New Zealand’s construction industry. Our training is recognised by New Zealand’s major construction firms. Some of our advisors are involved in WorkSafe development groups and are representatives on Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) groups consulting on guidance, standards and regulations. Our advisors also provide auditing and consulting services to some of New Zealand’s most recognised companies.
